How did I get here?

I sat somber and crushed knowing that all my hard work over the past 5 years was for nothing. How did this happen? Why did this happen? This was not how it was supposed to go.

I had been working towards my black belt in Krav Maga for the past 5 years. Working almost non stop. Always keeping in great shape, eating right, training 5 days a week, all while running a small business. To say the least I was pushing myself to my limits. Also keep in mind I was no spring chicken. I got into Krav Maga in my early 30's. Most of the kids I was training with were just that, kids! So that promoted me to work harder to keep up and show them that this "old man" could still hang. The days turned into months and the months into years. The belts were starting to stack up but I knew I couldn't keep up this pace up forever.

I had also started training in Bas Rutten systems, for striking and ground fighting, so now my work load was double. Every 6 months it was off to LA to train and test in either Krav Maga or Bas Rutten systems. I knew this would help me to create a great program for my Krav Maga training center so I pushed through the pain and kept my eye on my goals.

Eventually the pain was just too much so I increased the dose of Alive and Tylenol but that wasn't touching it anymore I had taken Viox and it worked like magic but due to the fact is was shown to cause heart problems with long term use it was taken off the market. I felt like this was the end of the line for me and my training. I was pushing 40 and wanted to reach the ultimate goal which for me was my black belt in Krav Maga. So I turned to cortisone shots.

First it was my elbows then my shoulders. In total I have had close to a dozen shots. They hurt but they worked.....for a little while.
